Let's play some FOOTBALL....

Dalton and Cole both are playing football for the first time this year. So our schedule has been crazy for the last few months. We're not used to this....usually sports doesn't hit us until football season is over....around December. And that's when we start basketball and then almost go straight into baseball. And then we have several months off before basketball starts again. But not this year......both boys are playing. And it's been a blast. Darin and I are both really enjoying it and so are the boys. They are almost done though. Dalton has started the season on the first string for defence and offense. He plays wide receiver and free safety. We are pretty proud of him because he's never played any football before. So he's really just beginning to learn. And that being said...on a team with almost 45 players....he's still a starter. Way to go Dalton! Now Cole...he's in the same boat. Never played before and is a starter. His position is tight end and sometimes as defensive end.....maybe. Anyway.......they are both doing awesome. Cole has also just started basketball. That's another chapter to begin. But for right now....it's pretty hectic around here. But that's just fine.........

Hunting season has begun!

Cole shot his first deer tonight.......with a bow. That is a huge feat for an 8 year old (atleast that what his proud Daddy says). It was a 5 point buck that he got right here in our field. This is his second deer. I'll have to post he first one later.

Darin's proud moment this summer...after 7 long year!

After 7 long years.....we stocked the pond, fished in it all these years. Only caught brim and catfish (and some large ones at that)........but never caught any bass. We thought they were all eaten or they washed over the dam. The first year we moved in...we stocked it and then a flood came and the water got so high, it washed over the dam. But finally......it happened. What he had been fishing for, trying so hard to not give up...........then the water exploided. It flew out of the water and champed his bait...............Darin could not believe it. The first bass to be caught out of our pond. Here it is.........

Then guess what happens.........that same fish again. Oh, there have been other small ones. But we're beginning to believe that fish wants out of that pond. This time my niece Taylor caughts it (with Uncle Darin's help of course)....Eric, Christoper and Ryan Estes were there also.

My Inspiration!

http://davidjessicamccash.blogspot.com/

Thanks Jessica....you have been my inspiration to get this started. I think it's going to be fun. And I hope my friends and family will enjoy it. Thanks a bunch girl.

The kids!

Cole's trying to look tough! Can't you tell!
He's so cool!
But still sweet!
Ahhhhh! What gentle brothers...should have seen what he did after the picture!
My little princess!
And her lab! Look at both of them smiling!

My baseball boys!

Dalton finished..3 and 8. I'm still so proud!
Cole finished...7 and 5. Cole went on to play for the All-Star's team.

Both the boys played baseball again this year. Both did really well. I love going and watching. It was a little more challenging to watch with Malachi. He turned 2 right in the middle of the season. And being a toddler....he was everywhere. And most of the time....Darin and I were on opposite ends of the county. He was coaching Cole's team so he had to miss several of Dalton's games. That's juggling for ya. We still have fun. Can't wait until next season!

Kansas City Vacation

We didn't take many vacations this year. But we were able to get away to Kansas City with our long time travel buddies...the Faust Family. We were all very excited about getting away. We were ready for break. Our first night, we hung out and enjoyed our friends that we hadn't seen in a while. The first day, we headed for Oceans of Fun. When we got there...Dalton and I just couldn't stand it. We wanted to ride the roller coaster also. So, he and I got passes to Worlds and Fun also. We had a blast just the 2 of us. And then we joined everyone else back over at Oceans of Fun. That afternoon Kelly found our way to the first barbeque place in town. It was okay...we're pretty fond of our Barbeque Shack here in town. Then that night we headed to a Kansas City Royals game. We had a blast. The game was short....with little ones there....I think that was a blessing. Then the next day the Faust family took us to a children's museum. That was awesome. And then before we left town.......they took us to the a restrauent at the mall. I can't remember the name of it....but the entire place looked like a jungle. The kids loved. And on the way home......God blessed us with the most incredible rainbow.
