Guatemala Trip!

Darin and his best friend Eric Estes, along with several other friends from our church and 2 other church groups sent to Guatemala in February for a construction project. This was a very special trip and project. The local pastor there that has been leading us on many trips...well, this was a project to begin building his church. We are so very close to Mateo and he is a very speical man. Darin always says that he can feel the Holy Spirit around him. So this was very special for those that know Mateo and his family.
Crazy boys....and look, mine's in the front leading the pack. Can you tell what they are doing.....the Beatles!
Some crazy loco locals I thnk here in this picture. Oops....no that our guys.
They love to have fun.
Darin was of course in charge of the plumbing.
Here's he's testing the lines.
Eric became very attached to this little girl. Darin says you can see a tear if you look close. A few years ago when Darin went on his first trip...he had the same experience with one of the local girls. He bonded with her and became very attached. He know he would have brought her home if he could have. This was Eric first trip and Darin's 3rd. It's very easy to get attached to everyone and everything there.

Darin with one of the kids in the rehab school.
He's so great with kids!
One of the locals makes these incredible vases. I just love them. I have several of them.
Church services one night during the week. These are all children of one village.

Eric is tired. "This is hard work", he says.
