Just out of the hospital after being there 4 hours. We first told that he would need surgery on it to place a plate on the bone. So they just put a splint on it and sent us home with orders to see the doctors the next day.
We were lucky to find out that Darin's best friend from elementary to junior high could see him the next day. Darin and Mark Powell had a blast remembering old times. But said that we were lucky that Dalton had not gone through his growth spurt yet and he would not need open surgery. We did however go in for closed surgery so that he could push both bones back into place and the then also found that both bones were near out of socket at the wrist. He's had to wear the full arm cast for 4 weeks.
Here a friend of Darin's that he grew up with at the ball parks works with Dr Mark Powell and she's cutting his first cast off. It was so thick...she is having a time getting it off.
Skinny arm!! Plus notice the scare there at the wrist. That was were the kids hit his arm and it was drug across the ground and was given a really bad road rash. I would say it was nearly a second degree burn. It was pretty deep. But it healed up nicely in the cast after surgery. They placed a piece of gauze on it that was coated with medicine.
